It's almost that time of the year where the gyms are going to be SLAMMED with people starting their New Years Resolutions. There may be times where you cant find a single machine or have to wait 10 and 15 minutes to do a single exercise. . . . The solution is full body workouts using a single piece of equipment. Today I chose the landmine where you get just a barbell and a couple of weights and you are good to go. (Some gyms dont have them but you can always get s barbell and wedge it in a corner somewhere) . . . There are many ways of doing this... you can go heavy and complete each exercise 3x's with breaks in between, go slightly lighter and superset 2 exercises, or go light and perform each exercise fir an allotted time frame and complete them all without breaks in between. . . . Here is a challenging KB full body workout that you can perform with just a single weight. Dont have one? Invest $35 and get one 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️ . . In this circuit try to do each exercise back to back without any rest periods. After the final exercise, take a 1-2 min break and repeat. Perform the entire circuit 3-5x's. . (Yes there will he exercises that are tough. Modify it by removing the KB) . . Goblet squats 15-30reps Reverse lunge 10-15each leg Lunge w/ cross raise 10-15 each KB swing 15-30 reps Squat w/ SA shoulder press 10-15 each SA bent over row 10-15each MT. climber pushups 10-20 High plank Kb slide 10-15each Straight legged situps 5-10 each or 10-20 without weight. . . Leg gamechanger: add balance and slow tempo to the equation. . . Reverse lunges, barefoot, and a balance pad. . Introducing a Proprioceptively Enriched Environment (aka stable while being unstable) to your exercise routine is a great ways to engage many of the, typically unused, stabilizer muscles in your feet providing you with a more beneficial workout. Not only do you get the full functionality of your toes, you are forced to contract the majority of your leg muscles from start to finish. . . Tips for the reverse lunge: . •practice balancing on one foot. If you cant do this standing still, you wont do this moving 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️. Pick one leg up and hold for 10seconds. Do this 3x's on each foot. . •Keep a mindful eye on making your core as tight as possible for the entire duration of the exersise. . •When driving your knee up, simultaneously extend the supporting leg until you are standing tall enough to to drive your hips forward to activate your glute.
