I've got exciting news for you!! I've partnered with @nestletollhouse to celebrate the #nationalcookieday +1!! For the next three months I will be sharing some (safe to eat raw) cookie dough goodness starting with this huge cookie dough deliciousness! It's sweet, it's crunchy, it's baked and it's raw... I'll be sharing the steps to make this soon!! #tollhousetribe
I can't believe culinary school is about to end and Mercury retrograde didn't break my sugar sculpture 😂😅 #thankfulwiththeuniverse #andcosmos . The truth is that this week I learned to be willing to let things go, working with blown sugar means you need to be ready to create something beautiful and delicate and see it splatter and go away in a matter of seconds (that's why you gotta have a plan B!) The reason why I took soo many pictures from beginning to end is because I was ready to let it all go, I just wanted to have a reminder of how beautiful it was! In the end some balloons broke (I was able to replace them with extra balloons) but the sculpture survived and we were even able to move it without breaking it! Thank you @chefjodyosullivan for your patience and making me stop overthinking all the things that could happen 😅😅😅😅
I'm alive!!! Dissapeared for a while to recover from a terrible flu I'm still trying to get rid off.. but wanted to share this Cinderella inspired pumpkin with you (I hope Gus-Gus on the side makes you smile)! Carving a cake was hard (even though Amanda from @oakleafcakes makes it look so easy - she's awesome, really!) I felt so accomplished once I saw the final product #thankful Happy Thanksgiving munchers 🎃 🐀🍂
These weeks have been crazy but so worth it !! Ladies and gentleman I present you to my first wedding cake!! 👩🍳👏🏻
This week we worked with chocolate oh so much chocolate! We did bombons, framed chocolates, we even visited Eric from @somervillechocolatecsa and learned about the entire process of chocolate making ! (Did you know he does seed to bar all in the Somerville location? It's a true inspiration!) And here I am with my dirty jacket and my fingers painted but so happy that I'm doing what I love !!! This is Gloria, my chocolate sculpture !! 🦛🍍💕👩🍳
We came for the honk and beers 🍻 and stayed for the amazing food!! Did you know @tastingcounter offers a bar menu after they close for their latest dinner seating? Doors open up and they gladly take you in for an amazing experience !! The wait is totally worth it because food and wine is so so so good!! If you haven't been yet this is for sure one to remember🍷 🔥
Fall foliage is at its peak and Walpole, NH is the most beautiful town this season. We were so excited when we realized our favorite chocolate shop @burdickchocolate has their main restaurant right in the heart of Walpole!! Of course we shared everything as we always do! We had the most amazing delicata squash & gnocchi in a Dijon sauce (highly recommended!! We asked for a vegetarian version), Potato crusted salmon (also delicious) and their daily soup was a tomato & cream that dissapeared way too fast 😳
Delicious Mexican experience at @atlanyc ! The casual vibe marries perfectly with the food and drinks selection, we had a bit of everything and loved every bite of it! For me, the fish a la talla- it was an exquisite whole fish deboned perfectly paired with tortillas and green salsa, for the girls- shrimp & cauliflower tacos (the cauliflower stood out as the best they've ever tried) and the guac was way too good and went way too fast !! Everything was BIEN MADRE! 🔥👌🏻
We love sushi and lately we've been craving torched 🍣 sushi rolls. It just adds an extra smokiness half cooked juiciness that's so unique👌🏻 @torajapaneserestaurant has some really delicious options for nigiri, sashimi, bowls and sushi rolls. We'll just have to come back and try more 🤤
Now being honest, we couldn't leave Cartagena without eating a whole fried fish and arroz con coco because that would be a crime! @mareabyrausch removes all the bones and spines from the fish before frying so you can literally eat the entire fish! 😳 They also do the coconut rice in the most authentic way... With Coca-cola (yes, that's Coke in Spanish!) That's why it looks so dark and it tastes so sweet! I particularly dislike Coke but this coconut rice is amazing! 🌊
SPECTACULAR! @carmenrestaurante surpassed our expectations and we can say this was our best meal in Cartagena! What an amazing team of talented and warm people! You can tell how every plate is crafted with love and experience and the service is just exceptional! This is a place that will amaze you! We didn't plan ahead so we were offered to seat at the bar and we LOVE seating at the bar to see the magic of the drinks crafting and this time we were able to meet the most wonderful and motivated team behind this bar! For starters we were delighted with the catch of the day's laminated ceviche with corozo costeño tiger’s milk, cucumber, shio kombu, Amazonian copoazú and coconut smoke! This is something you need to try ! Then we shared the Sea bass with a green plantain crust, coconut rice risotto, fresh hearts of palms from Putumayo, passionfruit & fermented honey... They did it again ! The flavors complimented each other like they were meant to be on that plate ! Every little detail just added depth and exciting flavors to the dish. To finish we shared the chilled corozo soup, condensed milk ice cream, angel food cake, lychee purée with mint. It was a perfect size for sharing and made a great finish for the night! We can't wait to come back and try more!! Gracias por una comida espectacular @carmenrestaurante !
By now you can tell we love ceviche...In our defense who doesn't love to eat ceviche in a perfect hot weather close to the beach and sand? We totally do!! @lacevicheriacartagena is one of those spots we heard a lot about so we knew we had to try it! It's a bit more traditional but still nothing like Peruvian ceviche, as you can see it's served dry with salad and patacones (of course)! Buen provecho 😋
As a Venezuelan I grew up eating arepas for breakfast since I have memory! So whenever we're in Colombia the goal is to eat as many arepas as we can! Mila was the perfect place to start the journey !! I would say the best breakfast in Cartagena was here!!!
Cartagena baby!! First stop: let's eat Caribbean ceBiche!! This was a very different experience from the Ceviche we're used to, the Peruvian ceviche with lots of juices and big chunks of veggies! These cebiches are on the dryer side, and the flavors are so so different! Each type has its own chili to go with and we were thankful to be able to order these three (Mango, Coconut and Tamarind) without any shellfish !
When going to @cafeartscience be ready to have an experience. From their drinks to the well thought menu you'll enjoy every sip and bite. We loved seating at the bar because you get to see the bartender doing his magic and the service is excellent!! We shared the Salmon Ceviche, Taglioni with truffles and the chocolate bar to finish! We both had drinks and were completely mesmerized by the way they make them we forgot to take pictures 😂
On our way to Crane Beach we like to stop in Salem to have something delicious to eat before some serious Beach relaxing !! This time we stopped by @kokeshisalem. Asian street food and ramen what a perfect combination! Salmon nori tacos, Vegetarian ramen & Tuna poke absolutely delicious! They're also right next door to the Salem Cheese Shop @thecheeseshopofsalem (where we could spend all day)
#MondayMotivation because all Mondays should look like this! Grapefruit spritzes to celebrate great food, even more awesome company and beautiful sunny weather! The best thing about traveling with another foodie is knowing we're sharing everything so that we can try more! At @lemeac you can't miss the gazpacho, arugula & fennel salad (so lemony and fresh 🍋), mushroom raviolis and truffle oil salmon tartare! We LOVED this place, it felt like home to us ❤️
We've been lost being more present in the now and not so much in social media. Collecting the most precious moments and oh so much food! I know these aren't our best pictures but these fries were GLORIOUS! The most delicious vegetarian Poutine in Montreal can be found at Patati Patata. It's a Hidden gem in front of a beautiful park so if you don't find a spot to sit in or are travelling with a doggie like we did you can just order to go and have a snack in the park!
If you know us - you must know that coffee runs in our veins! With these hot days the hubby is into Espressos on ice ! No sugar,no milk. Just coffee on ice! He's got this theory that the ice melts slowly releasing just the right amount of water to blend in with the espresso. Quoting his words this is the best coffee he's ever had!! Love to see him enjoy the small things in life ❤️ @cafeneve
