There has been alot of discussions and debates around High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) cardio vs. Slow intensity cardio◾ While both of them have their own benefits, it is always great to mix them together to have a balanced cardiovascular workout regime. While a steady state cardio is aerobic, HIIT is anaerobic which foundationally means that a slow cardio burns more of stored fat while HIIT burns the carbohydrates. However, HIIT can be helpful in burning the stored fat due to the elevated metabolism even after the workout is complete◾ The essential thing is that it is not all-or-nothing. If you are in a rush and don't have time, go for a 15 min tailored HIIT. If you have plenty of time and want to get moving but not so aggressively, go for a 40 min inclined walk on a trademill or a brisk walk in a park.
