With Thanksgiving approaching, I wanted to share some tips with you on how to navigate a holiday while still focusing on your goals. 1. High protein breakfast- having a higher protein breakfast will keep your other macros for the day readily available to consume during your Thanksgiving meal. 2. Bring a food option- offer to bring a side or a dessert. Something you can turn to that you know exactly what’s in it. 3. Meal structure- my rule is one plate, no need for seconds. Fill your plate with veggies and proteins, things you know, and can easily track. If you decide to take a step away from tracking on Thanksgiving, be mindful of what you are filling your plate with, you know what you need and don’t need to still meet your goals. That salad dressing? You don’t need it. 4. Be aware- listen to your body. Ask yourself, am I full? Am I satisfied with 3-4 bites of this pie? Don’t restrict yourself, but ask yourself, is this enough? And my number one tip- enjoy yourself, and make amazing memories wherever the holidays take you.

If you want to ENJOY your diet and start to drop unwanted body fat you need to START doing these 4 things! - FLEXIBLE DIETING This is an 80/20 approach of eating 80% whole, minimally processed foods, and 20% "dirty foods" that are more processed. This allows you to fit in the foods you love and enjoy into your diet, while still losing weight! Track your calories on myfitnesspal so that you can plug different foods in to see what you can fit in your day. This structure=more freedom with your food choices! - INTERMITTENT FASTING Start skipping breakfast and pushing your first meal back 5-6 hours after waking up. Intermittent fasting will allow you to eat 1-2 large and satisfying meals a day that will make dieting feel like.. well.. not dieting! - LOOKING AT THE BIG PICTURE Instead of only focusing on the scale and weighing yourself each day, take progress photos, take measurements, and do these every 2-4 weeks. This will give you a big picture look of how you're actually doing. You can still weigh yourself, but only do it first thing in the morning after waking up and using the bathroom. This will give you the most accurate measurement for the day. Track these weigh ins daily and average them from week to week to track your progress as well. - SHORT AND LONG TERM GOALS How many times have you set a big long term goal that you never achieved? Probably a lot right? Sl I learned to set several short term goals that were my stepping stones to my bigger ones. Say you want to drop 20 lbs. Seems like a lot right? Simply aim for 1-2lb weight loss each week over the next 3-4 months to get you there. That means losing 4-8lbs per month along the way. Doing this regularly can start to form a bad habit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here are 6 tips to help stop overeating whilst still enjoying the foods you love 🍕 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1️⃣ If you’re always hungry, your body is trying to tell you something. Increase your calorie intake with healthy, whole foods to help prevent cravings. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2️⃣ We all have our favorite foods 🌯 and there’s no reason you can’t enjoy them.
