Very few understand firsthand what it’s like to live with chronic illness and still show up... Let alone showing up to work out at the gym! It’s all about balance & deciphering between excuses vs disease that plays an intricate role into the achievement of remission. The worst thing an individual can do while battling an autoimmune disease is to go inactive and fuel your body with junk. The best thing an individual can do with an autoimmune disease is to listen to your body & partake in a progressive weight training program that is 💯% catered to your own energy levels & unique needs while focusing on nutrient dense foods to properly fuel your body. I narrowed my stance today and was able to control my breath, movement, and what I use to support the bar much more effectively. Sometimes during this process, I find gems 💞 .. This is me singing karaoke at @thebarninsanford_ in 2015. I was Country but I wasn’t CrossFit yet 😜 I was trying to put myself out there and find my confidence. .. Sometimes you have to realize how far you’ve come to appreciate where you are. While I’m excited to see where my passions take me, I have to appreciate where I am and how far I’ve come. .. I finally can say I love my life and I love myself. I finally found my confidence and I’m healing from years of health battles and lack of confidence/self-love. I’m blessed go have great friends/family and I’m blessed to live my dreams 💞💜 .. I wish I could go back and tell this girl that the future you have will truly blow your mind, Glory to God 🙏🏻💞 aaaannndd I wish I could tell her @carolynmillermusic will help with her vocals 😂😍 .. Oh hey there.. it’s been a minute.. . . This year & these past few months especially I’ve been really focused on GROWTH. & I’m not just talking about physical growth #gainz) BUT personal growth as well! . Here’s a few small new habits & routines that have made a huge difference for me: 1️⃣Starting my day earlier!⏰ I’m still no full on morning person.. but i now wake up around 6/6:30 to get my day going & am SO much more productive!!! (I started this schedule a few weeks before going to Peru back in April & was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved the schedule shift!) 2️⃣Set 3 intentions for the day when I get up. Write them down. & put them into practice. 3️⃣Reflect & write down 3 things you’re GRATEFUL for. Anything. It can be something deep & meaning or something small & silly (I’ve definitely put down “I’m grateful I had a quest bar today” as one of my 3 😝🙈) 4️⃣Make sure you do at least ONE thing for yourself DAILY. Self care isn’t selfish, it’s responsible. Prioritize yourself so you can be your best self & show up as your best. Every. Damn. Day!
