🌴Bali Baby in t-minus 2 days! ✈️🙊 . Now I get the question all the time about how I find a “healthy balance” between business goals, fitness goals, relationships, travel, family and still enjoying life!! 🤔 . I’m not going to lie, I don’t always feel like I have a ‘healthy balance’, I am very driven so my goals can consume my life at times - goals like competition prep requires compromise and sacrifice.🤷🏼‍♀️BUT in general, when I’m not prepping or focusing on a specific goal - I do live a balanced lifestyle. Training to feel good, get stronger, fuelling my body right and being healthy, but also a balance of going out for meals, being social and living my best life! . 👉🏼 ‘Balance’ is going to look different for everyone, so at the end of the day it’s a personal journey! However, personally I found a few mindset shifts and actions helped me enjoy life while also working on my health and fitness goals! 1️⃣ Ditching the all or nothing mentality 2️⃣ Consistency over time 3️⃣ Creating realistic routine & lifestyle changes 4️⃣ Understanding the trade off between being my LEANEST for a Healthy Balanced Lifestyle! . Testosterone will give you a broad timeline of events: Average timeline 1–3 months after starting testosterone 1–6 months after starting testosterone 3–6 months after starting testosterone 1 year or more after starting testosterone Effect of testosterone • increased sex drive • vaginal dryness • growth of your clitoris (typically 1–6 cm) • increased growth, coarseness, and thickness of hairs on arms, legs, chest, back, & abdomen • oilier skin and increased acne • increased muscle mass and upper body strength • redistribution of body fat to a more “masculine” pattern (more fat around the waist, less around the hips) • menstrual periods stop • voice starts to crack and drop within first 3–6 months, but can take a year to finish changing • gradual growth of facial hair (usually 1–4 years to reach full growth) • possible “male”-pattern balding Testosterone affects the entire body. It’s not possible to pick some changes and not others. I post this because HRT humans need to know that they are similar in terms of needs for all humans = eat nutritious foods with goal specific calories in mind. Work out for general wellbeing and calorie needs as calculated for goals. Sleep, rest, focus on reducing harmful triggers. You will get “thick”’... Difference from pre-T is muscle. Weight gain can be about excess fat or growth as in muscle. It’s more rapid when on T. Both. Eat food high in nutrition and move your body daily. Try and change your “estrogen mind set to weight gain”. Focus on healthy muscle mass. Anyway, research and ask; join a healthy discussion about HRT related changes prior to your T shots. Never forget that your genes play an integral part in all of this but is no excuse related to fitness. WHAT WHITE WATER KAYAKING TAUGHT ME 🛶 🥶 . I didn’t have time to research or watch videos on what this would be like (I’m usually diligent in my back ground research so that I can manage my expectations) . And I think this is what allowed me to have a better experience . I wasn’t OVER thinking . I didn’t have high levels of anxiety . I didn’t freak out when faced with white water rapids 🥶 . I just listened to our teacher and took action . I will be applying this more to my life now and trying to keep myself out of my head (when it’s necessary to be physically present) . SO THAT I can get a better first hand experience without my fear and doubt getting in my way . How many times have you allowed your fears to dominate you and take away from what could have been an amazing experience ???? . Mindset work is VALUABLE . Being able to clear your mind AND manage your emotions and thoughts is essential . But sometimes too much time inside your head can detract from the pleasure that you would derive from just TAKING ACTION . Are stress, anxiety or overwhelm taking over your life? . I found myself validated, understood, and accepted. ⠀⠀ I recently went to a workshop on Human Design (yay @yogini_vallia) gained so much clarify and validation. I learned how each person is born as one of the five archetypes, that we are designed to function and interpret these sensations of the world a certain way. By understanding our archetype, we can experience life with easy and flow by adhering to a primary strategies that corresponds with our design type. ⠀⠀ Through understanding my Body Graph and my archetype, I am able to reflect on my past and validate my thoughts, feelings, and actions. I am able to evaluate situations and act on what is best and suitable for me. I’m learning how to use my strategy and watching it work for me. Its such a relief now that I UNDERSTAND WHY I feel and see things. ⠀⠀ Finding out my archetype and centers provided me with so much love for myself. I’m here to focus on what I love so I can live a life that’s authentic and truly me. A life where I serve and share my wisdom, guidance and grace. And what I love is to BE ME.
