Today was our very first #NHS #fertility referral after a year of going back and fourth to our GP. We were the first app of the day yet they were still running 20 mins late because they had no notes about me on their system and were trying to find them. Dr “where you live there is no fertility funding, so what do you want from this?” Me “I didn’t ask for this referral, I was sent here by my GP following my husbands app with him because ‘they will fix the problem [of low SC] by treating your wife with #IUI’, I know there is no funding but according to him there is [limited].” Dr “There is no funding. So what would you like me to do?” Me “Well we’ve had 1 failed [private] #ICSI cycle, we’re not just giving up, we want to try again with another cycle!” Dr “OK, we can’t do that for you, we don’t offer IUI or #IVF here, but let’s go through your medical conditions and work on the building blocks” This is the battle we have with every NHS consultant our GP refers us to 🤦🏼‍♀️ we feel like we are constantly being fobbed off. He focused quite heavily on my high #FSH / low #AMH results. He’s the first to do this so it freaked me out a bit. Basically he drummed home, with a hand drawn graph for extra emphasis, that the older I get the lower my egg count and egg quality. Today we were able to get me repeat blood tests for FSH, #TSH and other #hormone fertility tests as well as a private prescription for #Folic acid, #Vitamin D & E for both of us and Vitamin C for hubs. Better than walking away empty handed I guess. He also recommend we cut out #carbs and sugars and for hubs to cut down his #dairy intake. He said the food element is far more important than the #supplements. So basically take away all the joys of food haha! He said we should make these changes and wait 3 months before any further treatment. Bourn Hall on the other hand are happy for us to start this cycle... we had already decided to wait until the next cycle at least but now we don’t know whether to take his advice and wait even longer? #ivfreferral #ivftreatment #ivfsupplements #ivfdiet #fertilitytreatment #scream4ivf #failedcycle #selffunded #ivfmonopoly #landonNHSpickupPrivateprescription

/ For a woman with normal health conditions, mensturation periods are supposed to be approximatelly 4-5 days. It's normal to have periods that last 3 to 6 days, but long lasting and intensive menstruations could indicate problems. For example, menstruations that take more than 7 days should be considered as problematic and the reason to that needs to be found out and cured.

I’ve gone back and forth with how “public” I want to make this account. On one hand, I would say I’m a pretty private person. I tend to only share my feelings and experiences with those closest to me. On the other hand, the one thing that has helped me most through these past few years is how open, honest, and vulnerable total STRANGERS have been about their experiences with loss and TTC.💕So, I’ve decided to own my journey and to share it fully—the good and the bad, starting with a photo & an introduction. ✨ My name is Greta. When my husband and I decided to start a family of our own, we envisioned a straightforward path to parenthood. Instead, like so many of you, we’ve been down a winding and painful road and have often questioned whether the family we so desperately wanted would ever come to be. In December of 2017, we lost our first baby at 8 weeks. We were devastated but felt reassured that miscarriage is a common (albeit not talked about) part of pregnancy. The following November, we were pregnant again and, after hearing the heartbeat at 8 weeks thought this was it.🌈Sadly, we lost our second baby at 12 weeks. We were crushed, but because two consecutive miscarriages was still within the “normal range” there was nothing we could do except to try again & trust that our rainbow was on the way. This past May, we were just over 20 weeks pregnant (we had made it through all of those scary ultrasounds and tests and we were FINALLY doing this!) when we learned that our baby had a rare chromosomal deletion and that the pregnancy was no longer viable. We made the incredibly painful decision to bring our baby girl into this world via D&E on May 22nd. We will miss her (and all of our babies) forever, but we’re so thankful that she provided us with some of the answers that we needed. We now know that the majority of our embryos (80-87%) will be impacted by this same chromosomal deletion and that our IVF journey will include PGT to give us the best chance possible at a healthy baby. We are beginning this process battered and broken, but with trust in our hearts that all of this pain will someday have been worth it.💖🌈🙏🏼

I am so grateful for my husband, Tom. I am grateful of this journey that we have decided to do together. I’m even grateful for IVF and having the possibility/chance to have a combo baby with my partner. 🐣 I have always wanted to be a mom. I’ve always wanted to have a child with someone I loved so deeply because what could be better than a combination of you and the person you love so much. 🐣 However, with waiting (impatiently) for the PGS testing results I’ve come to the conclusion that no matter what Tom and I will have a baby. It will be OUR baby. No matter what combination of our genes, or even if it’s 100% not our genes. Whatever the outcome, we have coming in the future, I have decided to embrace it because I’m grateful to have this amazing partner. Together, we are a unit and the most amazing team I’ve been part of. 🐣

Lucky socks!!! Great attitude is everything! Embracing the moment and the opportunity to get pregnant! Seeing the glass half full instead of half empty! Not drowning w questions of “why” you are not getting pregnant or self blame, but INSTEAD focusing on what you CAN do to get pregnant, to reach the goal. Once you realize that you have options, and that you ARE lucky because you have options, then embrace and ENJOY the moment! Make the most out of it, document it, cherish it! Bring positivity to the moment, to your spouse, to those who surround you! In return, they will lift you up even higher! Much is left to medicine/science, God, luck and nature! The one thing you can do to improve your odds is to stay positive! Lower endorphins, lower stress!!! Pray - Relax - Meditate - Exercise - Acupuncture - Have Fun - Share the moments.... they all help! #ivf #ivfjourney #ttc #ttcjourney #fertility #fertilityjourney #ivfcommunity #journeytomotherhood #ivftreatment #ivfsuccess #ivfsupport #ivftransfer #fertilitydoctor #infertility #notbyaccident #ivfwarrior #ivfsisters #ivfgotthis #ivfprep . . . #dallas, #irvingtx #lascolinas #highlandpark #universitypark

★ 𝗙𝗘𝗧 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 ★ . Wasn’t a great start yesterday morning 😂 for some reason we thought our appointment was at 11 turns out after a phone call from our clinic we should of been there at 8.30!! . Anyhow we did get there soon after & luckily it was only a 5 minute appointment to sign our consent forms & also to confirm our Endo Scratch will be around Day 21 we should then start the medication the same sort of time. . Everything will be confirmed in an appointment letter through the post so we will know the exact dates then. . In other news, After 6 Hours of travelling we finally made it to beautiful Wales, I mean look at this view. #ttclookforbeauty .
