Thankful for Autumn making my LISS sessions that much more enjoyable🍂❤️ I honestly do 99% of my LISS on a treadmill or bike because I like to be sure that I’m working at a steady state, but it’s such a nice change of pace unplugging and just hiking for a few miles. These two happen to be the most relevant aspects of my identity here. I am an Indian woman who is passionate about fitness. But these aren’t the only two things about me. I am also a researcher who is passionate about cooking and baking. I am a wife who is passionate about arts and calligraphy. I am a friend, a daughter and a sister who does volunteer work to help underprivileged. . You do not have to be one or the other. As women we are SUPERHEROES who can play multiple roles quite efficiently- a daughter, sister, wife, mother, artist, entrepreneur, nurses, doctors, singers, photographers, accountants, CEOs, creators, marathon runners, and what not! . Your only limitation is your own MIND that stops you from believing it. I have been listening to @chasejarvis’s book ‘Creative calling’. He says- “ Action is identity. You must simply do the verb to become the noun”👊🏻 And it couldn’t be more true! . When I started my fitness journey in Jan 2017, I believed that focusing on fitness means distraction from my thesis. And it is far from reality. You do NOT have to be one or the other. I know a lot of new moms complaining about how difficult it is to manage time for your health with a baby, and I totally agree and respect that. But, you CAN focus on your family and STILL MAKE TIME for your health. It is possible. Most of us have that ‘all or nothing’ mentality. Or we are waiting for that moment when our life will be 💯perfect and we will ‘have time’ to focus on things that matter, or things we love. That never happens! You MAKE TIME. You SACRIFICE A LITTLE! You SET GOALS! And you SMASH THE HECK OUT OF THEM! That’s how its done! . Yummy 😋 Yum Yum! @starinfinitefood ・・・ Hump Day Feels: SESAME HONEY MUSTARD GLAZED SALMON AND SMASHED GARLICKY FINGERLINGS AND 2-INGREDIENT TAHINI DIP! Happy Wednesday loves! Hope you’re all having a fabulous week. If you caught my stories yesterday I showed some of my salmon tips. If you’re interested I will add to my highlights. Made this yesterday and enjoyed it for dinner last night. Super easy to make! Served it with some @lef_farms greens and avocado coated in sesame seeds. SO YUMMMM! My boyfriend isn’t the biggest salmon fan but he loved this. Are you a fan of salmon? If not, this sesame honey mustard would be good on just about any protein! And the dip...one of my faves. • • • Deets: wild salmon steak sliced in half (I removed bone from middle), seasoned with a little Chinese five spice, salt and pepper, then seared on medium heat in butter or coconut oil for 2 minutes per side in cast iron (I add a little coconut aminos to the pan as well). Then glazed with a mixture of 2 tablespoon honey, 2 tablespoon mustard, 1 tablespoon Greek style yogurt, 1 teaspoon coconut aminos, 1 clove minced garlic and a couple drops of sesame oil (just fit flavor). Fingerlings: boil for about 10 minutes until soft, then use a cup to press them down and “smash” them. Toss in some oil mixed with a clove of minced garlic. Season with salt and pepper. You can air fry them for about 8 minutes on 390, bake them for 20 on 400, or pan fry them on medium highflier a few minutes per side. No matter which method, be sure to flip halfway. Tahini sauce: mix some tahini with some coconut aminos to taste! I used @drkellyannpetrucci collagen bone broth powder, a very clean and tasty bone broth powder. Adding the bone broth powder with the spices on the chicken and the potatoes made them so flavorful! Plus added an extra protein, nutrients and crisp! And also this honey mustard dip is BOMB! Recipes below! How was your weekend?
