Each year at Christmas we add our witness to that of the shepherds - that Jesus Christ, the literal Son of the living God, came to a corner of the earth in what we call the Holy Land.
What do you feel excited about? What are your passions? Do you ever let yourself dream about making big difference in the world? Or even just in YOUR life? What would that look like? What would you be doing? WHAT IF… what if… those passions and desires were actually from God? What if it’s not just you being silly and dreaming and childish but they were actually passions and desires given to you as a child of God? A few years ago my husband decided to forgo his engineering degree and instead experiment with business and entrepreneurship. I remember walking up the canyon with him one night, and he was so nervous about his decision. He said, “What if I’m not supposed to follow these weird, scary, hopeful dreams and I’m just supposed to learn to be content and ok with being an engineer?” We’ve learned that for us, following those passions has been the absolute best (and hardest and fun-est) thing we’ve ever done. And that those desires and dreams and passions were totally God-inspired. Maybe it’s the same for you.

Last night, leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints shared their testimonies of the Savior and spoke of the incredible gift that God has given us when He sent His son to earth. I would like to share my witness as well that you, and me, and all of us have a living Savior who knows and understands each one of us. He lives, and I am a witness. Last night’s messages hit me really hard, and I invite you all to look to Jesus Christ this Christmas season and throughout the year.
