"Mommy I saw the Easter bunny last night." "Ohh, what did he look like?" "A train"
I had my own private DJ to help me with my 6:30 work out.
Start of the spring sports season. It was cold but at least she fell asleep.
I am a visual person and decided I needed to post up the weeks lesson as a reminder to study it with my children. We use a simple white board to write the title of this weeks lesson and the scriptures each section refers to. Instead of reading the whole thing in one shot, we’re breaking it down into sections each day. The goal isn’t to just teach them, but to also get them in the habit of studying the lessons during the week before Sunday. We want engagement, learning, and consistency. Every family is different, so how are you following the new Come Follow Me curriculum with your family? . . . #lmoz #momsofzioninspo #ldsinspiration #lds #mormon #ldsmom #mormonmon #comefollowme #ldscomefollowme #christcenteredhome #momblog #familyblog
I have been MIA. My little Miss S is the reason. I'm going to try and be better about posting again and documenting our crazy life.
This is a message from our living prophet today. I’m a bit overwhelmed but at the same time blessed to have been endowed from on high with these great things about being a woman and a mother. 😀😇 #ldsmom #mormonmon #ldslife #mormonlife #momlife #momblogger #woman #womanempowerment #russelmnelson #gencon2018 #ldsconf #ldsconference
The primary song, "A Child's Prayer" has been running through my mind all week. Maybe because our primary sacrament meeting presentation is this Sunday. 😀 This is a favorite song. When I was in high school, my sisters and I would sing it for my mom. Now I only have one sister that had musical talent, and she would play it on the piano (but saxa phone was her strength) and my younger sister and I would do our best at singing it. But still my mom loved it (I think, she may correct me 😂). Now, with a few more years of experience under my belt, I think I know why. This is one of those songs, like "I Am a Child of God", with a simple, but so very powerful message. The first line of the first verse often comes when I am troubled and my heart aches. "Heavenly Father are you really there?" But, thankfully, the second verse quickly responds, "Pray, He is there. Speak, He is listening. You are His child. His love now surrounds you." What more important lesson do we need in our lives than this: 1. You ARE a child if God 2. He HEARS your prayers 3. He LOVES you What primary songs have brought comfort to you or strengthened you testimony? #thechurchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints #mormon #mormonmon #lds #ldsmom #momswhoknow #womenwhoknow #ldsprimary #primarysongs #ldsletteringleague #lll_prayer
I have started into the war chapters of Alma. Do you struggle with them like I do? Today's study was in Alma 43. Moroni is chosen as captain to lead them against the Lamanites, who are led by former Nephites, the Amalekites and Zoramites. These former Nephites have an intense hatred of the Nephites. This intense hatred causes them to fight with "great courage and strength" (vs 43), even "like dragons" (vs 44). The Nephites, however, "were inspired by a better cause" (vs 45). They received strength from the Lord and fought for: - their homes 🏡 - their wives 👩❤️👨 - their children 👨👩👧👦 - their liberty - their church - their rite to worship 🙏 So why is it important that this was included in the Book of Mormon for our day? We fight a battle daily against the Adversary. Like the Nephites we can prepare our own weapons and breastplates to defend ourselves. We can study the scriptures, pray, and live so that the Holy Ghost is our companion. Like the Nephites we can rely on and follow the council from our living prophet. Like the Nephites we can be "inspired by a better cause". Like the Nephites we can pray to the Lord for strength. What is your better cause? What is your reason for resisting temptation? What is your hope? This is from several days ago, but just getting around to sharing. How many remember this from scripture mastery? 🙋♀️ Alma 41:10 We recently had a dinner discussion with our kiddos about what is real happiness. I think it evolved from one of them saying something along the lines of, "If I had my one x-box like so and so, then I would be so happy." We asked if the x-box really would bring happiness. We talked about the differences between pleasure, happiness, and joy. As a mother, I want my children to know where true happiness (joy) comes from. I want them to know that Jesus Christ is that source. That it is ok to enjoy life's pleasures when our 💓 knows they are not a replacement for joy (And right now, their pleasure is getting to play 🎮video games without a time limit.⏳) But there may come a day when what the world claims as happiness, the pleasures of the world, get a hold of them. I hope that we have taught them well enough that they know they can turn back to Christ and experience real joy. Eternal happiness. #thechurchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaintsmember #mormon #mormonmon #lds #ldsmom #momswhoknow #womenwhoknow #bookofmormon #thebookofmormon #readthebookofmormon #bookofmormonlettering #faithjournal #scripturestudy #studythescriptures #scripturepower #scripturejournal #scripturejournaling
The last 10 chapters of Alma are FULL of wonderful things....just look at all that color 😀🎨 So much about Christlike attributes and the Plan of Salvation __ Do you color code your scripture marking? #thechurchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints #mormon #mormonmon #lds #ldsmom #momswhoknow #womenwhoknow #bookofmormon #thebookofmormon #readthebookofmormon #messybookofmormonjournaling #scripturestudy #studythescriptures #scripturepower #scripturejournal #scripturejournaling
These verses in Alma 36 are so powerful after you read if the pain Alma felt while repenting. This time reading them I was in tears. I felt his joy. I pictured him with a radiant, joy filled smile as he recounted this to his son, Helaman. Two words come toy mind in reading this. The first is relief. Can you imagine or have you felt the relief of having your sins removed by the Atonement of Jesus Christ? I hope so. The second word is freedom. We read time and again in e Book of Mormon that Satan desires to bind us with sin. Alma, in calling upon the Savior, was released from "the everlasting chains of death"(vs. 18). He was free. Just writing this fills my 💓 with joy and lightness. Because of the Atonement of Christ we CAN find relief and freedom. How grateful I am I am for my Savior. How I hope you have felt the joy that comes from Him. #bookofmormon #thebookofmormon #momswhoknow #womenwhoknow #readthebookofmormon #illustratedfaith #messybookofmormonjournaling #bookofmormonlettering #faithjournal #scripturestudy #mormon #mormonmon #lds #ldsmom #studythescriptures #scripturepower #scripturejournal #scripturejournaling
My thoughts from yesterday's post turned to this scripture in Exodus. The people of Israel are leaving Egypt. They have the Red Sea in front of them. They have Pharaoh and his armies behind them. Talk about feeling trapped and unsure. Many of the Israelites lose hope, thinking it would have been better to stay in Egypt and serve the Egyptians. This verse was Moses' reply to them. Sometimes the "stand still" part is the hardest. We want to be doing something, to have a plan, an action. But when we do not take a moment to stand still we often cannot recognize the influence of the Holy Ghost and be witnesses to "the salvation of the Lord." Stand still, sister, the Lord has this. Need more encouragement, go read the next verse, Exodus 14:14 #scripture #bibleverse #biblejournaling #faith #mormon #mormonmon #lds #ldsmom #momswhoknow #womenwhoknow #illustratedfaith #faithjournal #scripturestudy #studythescriptures #scripturepower #scripturejournal #scripturejournaling
One of my favorite lines, and life's goal, is found in Alma 34:38 "live in thanksgiving daily" It has been a favorite for several years and something I strive to do. Some days are better than others, and sometimes I just try to recognize what there is to be grateful for in a situation. It truly is wonderful how much more peace and joy we find in life when we approach it with gratitude. Lines at the grocery store are not too long when you look at your full cart with gratitude that you can afford groceries. Not being able to find a parking spot 🚗 at meet the teacher night can be a grateful moment when you realize your kids go to a school where the parents show up for events and support their children. Chocolate smeared on the walls by a 2 year old's little fingers isn't so bad because 1. It washes off. 2. It is chocolate, hopefully you got some too 🍫. 3. The smile on your two year old's face because that boy loves chocolate. “ Yea,cry unto him for mercy, for he is mighty to serve. Yea humble yourselves, and continue in prayer unto him. Cry unto him when ye are in your fields, yea over all your flocks. Cry unto him in your houses, yea over all your household, both morning, midday and evening.......” Alma34:18-21. Ere you left your room this morning, did you think to pray? #lds #mormondaily
