Ok so disclaimer, this is not a technically ideal lift (oh and there’s some swearing 💁🏻‍♀️). What it is though, is me overcoming this fear that I can’t get out of a deep squat. Which I’ve had since I injured myself earlier this year. As you can see I well and truly conquered that fear today. I committed and persevered to make it happen. And that makes me incredibly proud. As Rob from the @thefortemethod says, we suffer more in imagination than in reality and I’m done imagining. Not every day is sunshine and rainbows. Today I was very frustrated and angry, things not working the way I need them to. Took some time to sit and think about the training session. I was mad because I failed, I haven’t being doing the accessory work I should have been. I got lazy. I made excuses and now it’s manifesting. No fault but my own. Long post, sorry not sorry. Welp, had my first breakdown today, tears and everything. Turned off the sound to spare you my cursing. Life has been very stressful lately and the gym has always been my happy place but today the stress of everything going on boiled over into lifting. To say I was frustrated is an understatement. Thankfully, I was reminded that this stuff happens when you feel really stressed out. It didn’t make me feel better at the time but it felt good to get everything off my chest and it felt like a little bit of that weight was lifted off my shoulders. I’m proud of myself for walking back in and at least finishing the other part of our programming.
