🔥What you didn't know about good mornings🔥 - Good mornings are one of the most underutilized exercises in the book. They are one of the best posterior chain movements, like deadlifts, and develop the glutes, hamstrings and lower back. They are a bit less taxing than deadlifts which makes them a good movement to incorporate on either non-deadlift days or to supplement the deadlift. They can develop great functional strength which can transfer well into most sports, but also daily movements. We are often so focussed on our mirror muscles we forget about the posterior chain, but good mornings can be part of a well-designed program and can be incorporated into your pull day routine. |GROUP MANAGEMENT| When you have a large group, maybe 15 or more athletes, group management becomes even more important than in a smaller class. If you lose control of the group, the wheels can come off completely! I have found the keys to coaching large groups are - 1) Tell them where to be and when to be there. Don’t leave any room for guessing, always tell them. Act as if they are never listening and repeat yourself often to ensure they stay on track. 2) Consider available equipment and space. You don’t want to have athletes bumping into each other or left without equipment. Plan ahead, even if they are sharing, so that you know it will work out. I do the strength and conditioning for a local volleyball team. When there are 30-50 girls, I have to take those two components into account in order to run an effective program! #planahead #bettercoaching
