At least not all of it. 😆 Effective trainers don't just show up, pick random exercises, and count your reps. We spend time at home writing effective and custom programming for our clients. We research new and old training methodology. We study and we plan so that our clients can get out of training as much as they put in to it. This past weekend I had a lot of fun camping, relaxing, and enjoying nature. I didn't obsess over my goals, calorie intake, or workouts. Instead, I swam for fun, walked to enjoy the world around me, and just took care of my mental and emotional health. Today I am back on plan. I got up early and went for a 20ish minute walk. Time for my weekly adjustment. It is so very easy for us to get used to pain or discomfort. Our bodies are GREAT at adapting and we then forget what it feels like to live pain free. I'm tired of surviving - It's time to thrive. With that, I have been pulling things off the back burner and making them a priority. When you beat your body up in the gym, you need to also take time to make sure everything is aligned and moving properly. I have been dealing with low back pain for most of the year. After XRays and an MRI came back without any obvious issues I recruited the expert help of Miriam at @pilates1901 and @drjordan.krause_dc of @kcnorthsjc. Their combination turned out to be the recipe of success. My back pain is pretty much gone. My ability to activate my core is so much better. Last Friday I had some dental work done and I am not supposed to get my heart rate up until tomorrow. I didn't feel like walking again, so I spent a little time in the SwimEx working on core activation and engagement. I followed that up with some self care in the hot tub.
